Does your special Birthday Guest have Hollywood Dreams, or do they picture themselves in a rodeo? Or on the golf course? Choose from one of our unique birthday themes for a party to remember!

Hollywood Theme

Throw a party reminiscent of Tinseltown's glory days for your movie buff. Decorate the room in black and white or fill the walls with old movie posters; even ask guests to come dressed in black and white only, or as their favorite movie star. Place photos of the Guest of Honor inside faux movie-reel frames (easy to make with black and white posterboard). Serve martinis or non-alchoholic beverages out of martini glasses. Play old movie soundracks, and have a classic running on the TV at all times.

Disco Party

Gather some relics of '70s splendor like lava lamps, beaded curtains, and macrame. Ask guests to come dressed in their disco finest. Retrieve your turn table from the attic and spin tunes from that classic dance era so you can boogie down with your best moves. For food, serve cheese and chocolate fondue. Pick up some inexpensive oversized sunglasses at the drugstore for guests to sport. Instant disco party!

Western Birthday

Two-step into another year with a cowboy birthday party. For seating you can stack haybales tied with twine, and cover tables with checkerboard tablecloths. Serve barbeque and baked beans. Make centerpieces out of ceramic or plastic boots (available at your local craft store) filled with wildflowers. Play your favorite country tunes to dance to, and serve drinks out of old-fashioned frosty beer mugs.

Sports

For the athletic enthusiast, center a party around his or her favorite sport. If they love to be on the green, schedule tee times for all their friends and then have cake and punch in the clubhouse. If basketball's their game, have a pick-up game on the court and a picnic lunch to go with it. Bowling parties are always a good time (and an activity in which mostly everyone can compete). Other theme ideas are a fake Superbowl Party (if they love football), a foozball championship at your local pub (again, everyone can play), or a ping-pong tournament. As far as decorations, all kinds of sports-themed partyware is available at your local party store. So, get ready for your party, and let's play!

Carnival Theme

Recreate the summer carnival that passes through town for an exotic birthday party. Ask friends to be different "freaks" like the bearded lady, the strong man, etc. to entertain guests. Decorate with wild circus colors, balloons, and cotton candy. Serve elephant ears, popcorn, and hot dogs for true carnival fare. Provide guests with carnival activities such as a ring toss, guess-your-weight, and a fortune teller who sees the future.

Las Vegas

Celebrate a birthday with all the flash and pizazz of a Vegas Casino. Easily decorate the room with flashing Christmas lights or runner lights in tubes. Set up card tables for poker and black jack and then ask friends to play the role of "dealer", complete with money apron and green visor. Allocate a certain amount of play money to each guest, and give a prize to the one with the most "cash" at the end of the evening.
